First Aid and Safety Courses



Foundation Safety and Rescue Test (FSRT)

Open to adults holding BCU 2 Star Award or skills equivalent. Required as a pre-requisite to Level 2 Coach Training. The course is designed for all paddlers irrespective of craft. Safety and rescue skills to use in a sheltered water environment. This qualification will then form the basis of all safety and rescue training throughout the BCU scheme.

Times: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Pre-requisite: BCU 2 Star Award or skills equivalent and be a minimum of 14 years old

Note: A First Aid Certificate is not a pre-requisite until coach level, however, the holding of a certificate is strongly recommended for all paddlers

BCU Aquatic First Aid Level 1

This course is designed to give First Aiders confidence in demonstrating sound knowledge and understanding emergency procedures. There is no formal assessment at the end of the course. Assessment is ongoing throughout the day.

Times: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Pre-requisite: Minimum of 14 years old
