An exciting and challenging opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Manager We are looking for someone who can rise to the challenge of managing Southampton's two leading Outdoor Centres
which includes Southampton Water Activities Centre and Woodmill Outdoor Centre/Canoe Shop.
As Operations Manager you will be responsible for all aspect of the Centre's operations and will be expected
to develop and build on existing relationships with the Centre's stakeholders. We are looking for a determined and result orientated manager with a successful track record of management of outdoor
facilities including sailing centre, outdoor activity and canoe centre, and an outdoor retail shop.
The courses delivered by the Centre's qualified staff are of a high standard and the person appointed will be expected to
maintain and build on this reputation. The postholder will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have excellent interpersonal and communication
skills. An in-depth knowledge and experience in effective financial budgetary management, people performance management,
Health and Safety (especially realing to ourdoor), quality standards and systems are essential. Able to demonstrate a strategic approach to service development and delivery of outdoor facilities,
an understanding of funding streams and major project management would be advantageous.
In addition an excellent customer focus, partnership working and exceptional standards

Casual/Seasonal Instructors£6 - £7 per hour Woodmill is one of four outdoor education centres owned and managed by Southampton City Council. It is a specialist canoeing centre with access to white water, placid water and sea paddling. The Centre has extensive grounds with ropes courses and artificial climbing walls. If you would like to join our enthusiastic and committed team of instructors and have excellent interpersonal, organisational and paddling skills, we would like to hear from you. You should be a qualified BCU Level 2 Coach, either kayak of canoe, with experience instructing both young people and adults. Additional outdoor qualifications in any of the following: climbing, orienteering, ropes courses, archery and environmental studies would also be an advantage.
