UKCC Level One Coach Training and Assesment
Pre-requisite:
BCU 2 Star Certificate (or old style 2 star award in canoe and kayak)
Foundation Safety and Rescue Certificate
16 years or over
Pre registration with the BCU (by completing a candidate registration (CR) form
Course Length: 4 Day Time: 9am to 4:30pm
This training and assessment course is the first step on the paddlesport coaching pathway. It will introduce you to the fundamentals of good coaching practice and help you to understand and coach technical and tactical aspects of your sport. The level 1 coach is a multi boat award so candidates should be proficient in both canoe and kayak. Woodmill is a perfect venue for the coaching awards due to our large range of boats, multiple paddling venues and excellent classroom facilities.

UKCC Level Two Coach Training
Pre-requisite:
Discipline specific BCU 3 Star Certificate
Foundation Safety and Rescue Certificate
BCU/UKCC Level 1 Award
18 years or over

Course Length: 4 Day Time: 8am to 5:00pm
This is the second step on the paddlesport coaching pathway. It focuses on progressive coaching, helping you to develop your students within their first 3 years of paddling, through a series of sessions. . The level 2 award is a multi boat award so candidates should be proficient in both canoe and kayak. Woodmill is a perfect venue for the coaching awards due to our large range of boats, multiple paddling venues and excellent classroom facilities.

Completed level 2 assessment portfolio as per level 2 training
Course Length: 1 Day Time: 9am to 4:30pm
This assessment day is the final observation for your BCU/UKCC level 2 award. This part of the course will require a completed Assessment Portfolio which may be required to be sent to the assessor prior to the assessment day.

Foundation Safety and Rescue
Pre-requisite: Must be 14 years old and over.
BCU 2 star or equivalent ability
Course Length: 1 day Time: 9am to 4:30pm
The course aims to provide the student with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely in a sheltered water environment and to be able to deal with common emergencies.These skills will then form the basis of all safety and rescue training throughout the BCU Scheme. The foundation safety and rescue will cover rescues in all types of paddlesports craft.
