Schools Programme

Woodmill Outdoor Centre is located in a converted historic mill within easy reach of the centre of Southampton.

The centre operates on the upper reaches of the River Itchen and Southampton Water, offering a wide range of outdoor education opportunities such as watersports, outdoor activities and environmental studies to schools, colleges and the local community.

Some school groups come to the centre for day visits and use the classrooms and facilities available for their activities. Other groups choose to stay for a night or two in our tents using the camping facilities provided.

We can tailor a programme to suit your needs whether that's for a half day trip river study or a 3 day and night all inclusive trip, experiencing a variety of our activities and challenging yourself in every way possible, be it on water, in the trees or crawling through our tunnel!

Most school groups that come to the centre base their work on areas of the curriculum linked to the environment, geography and science. We can tailor suitable programmes to link with the KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 curriculum's.
